Duties and Responsibilities: taking and developing
dental radiographs (x-rays).Removing calculus and plaque from all surfaces of
the teeth. Applying preventive materials to the teeth. Teaching patients
appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health. Counseling
patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health. Making impressions
of patients' teeth for study casts.
Salary: $70,210
Education: They typically need an associate’s degree in
dental hygiene. All states require dental hygienists to be licensed;
requirements vary by state.
Reflection: I would like to be an
Oral Care profession because it is something that I am interested in becoming
when I am older.
