Environmental Health Specialist-
Sanitarian
Duties and Responsibilities: They inspect properties,
businesses or homes; collecting and analyzing water samples; identifying health
and environmental hazards including indoor and outdoor air quality; assists in
food-borne and water-borne illness outbreak investigations; providing community
health education and health promotion activities; ensuring compliance with a
broad range of current local health and environmental codes, regulations and
policies; participating in multi-faceted health or environmental projects.
Salary: $34,000-$45,000
Education: You need to have a
high school diploma. Then you must at least have an associate’s degree. You then
must pass a state certified test.
Reflection: I would not like to be
a sanitarian because it is a career that does not interest me.
