Duties and Responsibility: Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Speech, language, and swallowing disorders result from a variety of causes, such as a stroke, brain injury, hearing loss, developmental delay, a cleft palate, cerebral palsy, or emotional problems.

Salary: $68,000

Education: You need to have graduated high school or get a GED certificate in order to start the training and schooling. Speech-language pathologists typically need at least a master’s degree. They must be licensed in most states but the requirement s change in different states.

Reflection: I would not like to be a speech pathologist because it does not sound very interesting to me.
