"I will persist until i succeed"
Og Mandino
I really like this simple statement by og mandino. I like that the quote directly goes to the point which is entirely true. I agree that you have to persist in order to succeed. You don't just get things you want or have the success come to you. No. You have to be persistent about it. You have to persist until you have reached the goal of being successful. Nothing is easy and you have to be persistent to get what you want and in this case success. For example at basketball i want to be the best player in the state of  California. In order to do this i have to be persistent in order to accomplish that.

"Nothing in the world can take the
place of persistence.
TALENT will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
GENIUS will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education; will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
PERSISTENCE and DETERMINATION alone are omnipotent. The slogan "Press on " has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. "
President Calvin Coolidge
We all should get a clue what President Coolidge has to say about persistence. He is stating that Talent, genius , and education will take the place of persistence. Talent is common when unsuccessful men have talent and Genius is an unrewarded proverb. I very much agree that you need persistence and determination to be successful. The slogan press on has always solved and will continue to solve problems of the human race. For example in basketball you need persistence and determination to be successful.

"Persistence can change failure into
extraordinary achievement"
Matt Biondi

I very much agree with the Olympic gold medalist Matt Biondi. I think if you are not persistent with what you want to achieve then maybe you will fail. You can change things around if you have persistence. You can make a different resolution rather than failing in life. Having persistence is turning failure into extraordinary achievements. For example if i want to become better at basketball then i have to be persistent with my dream and never give up. Cause once you fail with persistence than you will fail in life.

"The answers to these questions will determine
your success or failure:
1. Can people trust me to do what's right?
2. Am i committed to doing my very best?
3. Do i treat people the way i want to be treated?
If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail."
Lou Holtz
I believe people can trust me to do what is right because i always choose the best not only for myself but to my peers as well. I am committed to what i do best because if i try hard enough it will be a very big positive outcome in my life. Yes i do treat people the way i want to be treated because that is the fair way in life and i wouldn't want to be treated bad. I strongly agree these 3 questions is to determine if you succeed or fail. I answered all of them yes which should determine i am on my way to success. Lou Holtz 3 questions are very good ones to determine if you are going to fail or succeed in life.

"Never look to the ground for your
next step. Greatness belongs to those
who look to the horizon."
Bud Greenspan

This is a very good statement by Bud Greenspan. I think i do know what it means. It is trying to tell us that we should never look down for our next step. We should always look up to our future so we can achieve greatness. When you do good and look forward in life, then you will achieve it and have greatness but if you look at the ground then you wont accomplish it. Looking to the horizon is your goal. For example if your goal is to run the fastest in your pe class to run the mile then you don't look down, therefore if you want to achieve the greatness look up to the horizon.

John F. Kennedy summary

President Kennedy is not talking to one particular group in the united states but the whole country about Physical health. He states on how we should participate in any type of physical exercise and how he wants all of the us to have good mental and physical health. He wants the whole country to put a little effort in doing any type of physical exercise. He lastly informs us if we do exercise then we have a chance at living longer in life. I will now exercise more and stay away from any type of drug in my community. Not only to be a better person or for my health  but as well as being a US citizen with good mental and physical health.
Student Success Statement
“Physical Fitness is not only one of the most Important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: That intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.”
 President John. F Kennedy
The statement by President Kennedy may sound confusing at first but I think I know what it means. I think it is saying that if you keep your body healthy and do physical exercise then you will be more intelligent in the mind.  Physical fitness is not the only key to a healthy body but so is your mind. The complex situation is the body and the mind in shorter words. He is also saying we know what the Greeks knew. Your intelligence and skills are getting stronger at the peak in life when you are healthy and strong.  For example let’s say you are trying to gain muscle and keep a healthy life, then your mind will exercise as well and you can become more intelligent.  I very much agree with this statement and think it is a clever one.

Students Success Statement
"No student ever attains eminent success by
simply doing what is required of him/her
it is the amount and excellence of what is over
and above the required that determines the
greatness of ultimate distinction".
Charles Kendall Adams, American Historian

I very much agree with this quote and i find it very true in what it is stating. Charles Adams is telling us that we shouldn't just be satisfied with what we are told what to do and just complete it. Rather do more of the expectations to reach a higher rank at success. The thing that is going to make us even more successful is the amount and excellence of what is required to do to even be better than what we can achieve. If we follow this then we will be the greatest of ultimate distinction. For example if were told just to read a chapter of a novel, then what we should do to be more successful is read the whole book.

"Doing what is right, fair and
honorable is more important
than winning or loosing"
Chick Moorman

I very much agree with this statement because it really shows who the real champion is. Winning or loosing may not be the only good thing about a game. Being fair and honorable is way better then loosing or winning. In order to be a good person with sportsmanship then you must do what is right and be fair and honorable. Doing what is right and fair and also honorable is more important than winning or loosing to me. For example Kobe Bryant follows this. If Kobe is in a game that his team is loosing, he does not give up and he chooses whats right fir his team and is fair at the end even if he looses.

" Hold Yourself responsible for a higher
standard than anybody else expects of you.
Never excuse yourself."
Henry Ward Beecher

As i always say there is no limit to what you can achieve.Yes you may put standards on yourself and people can see it as well. But always but the standard you have as a decoy. People may think you can only achieve what you said, but only you can get higher. Never let no one know you can achieve a standard that is higher than they expect. For example if your standard is to get a's and b's in school then you keep it like that. After you tell yourself you want a better standard which is to get straight a's.

"Goal setting is goal
getting, set and get."
Mark Victor Hansen

I very much agree with this statement because i really try to follow that. I believe that when you set a goal for yourself your supposed to go and get it and accomplish it. Mark Hansen is trying to tell us that once you set a goal for yourself ago and get it. Set and Get is perfect because that makes you want to chase after your goal and reach it. For example if you set a goal to be a rapper then your gonna go get the goal and your going to accomplish it. Many goals take work and you gotta follow it and work hard enough to achieve it.
