Optometrist

Duties and Responsibilities: Optometrist treats vision problems. They treat vision problems by prescribing corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy. They are not physicians which mean they cannot prescribe medical prescriptions, treat disease or perform surgery.  Most are self-employed, however many work for hospitals, government agencies, and universities.
Salary: $78,000
Education: Students should take AP classes in math, science, and English. You need two years of college in a pre- professional program is required. Then they need to go to optometry school which is 4 years long. After being rewarded the Degree of Doctor of Optometry, optometrists must pass a state exam before staring practice.

Reflection: I would be interested in being an optometrist because it sounds like an interesting career that pays good money.
