Orthotist
Duties and Responsibilities: Orthotists work with
patients that need extra support for their muscles, spine, or limbs. They design,
make, and fit apparatuses made of plastic, wood, leather, and metal that help
stabilize, strengthen or replace body parts.
They also make and fit devices that help to align limbs that have grown
in a crooked manner.
Salary: $25,000-$40,000
Education: You need to attend a college or university
that offers bachelor degrees in orthotic and prosthetic programs. The programs include courses in anatomy, physics,
mathematics, mechanical drawing, and the use of using tools to make something. After
one year of experience you may apply for certification.
Reflection: No I would not be
interested in this career because I am not interested in this sudden career in
the medical field. They do not really pay well as well.
