Student Success Statement
“Physical Fitness is
not only one of the most Important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of
dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the
soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex.
Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: That intelligence
and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is
healthy and strong.”
President John. F Kennedy
The statement
by President Kennedy may sound confusing at first but I think I know what it
means. I think it is saying that if you keep your body healthy and do physical exercise
then you will be more intelligent in the mind. Physical fitness is not the only key to a
healthy body but so is your mind. The complex situation is the body and the
mind in shorter words. He is also saying we know what the Greeks knew. Your intelligence
and skills are getting stronger at the peak in life when you are healthy and
strong. For example let’s say you are
trying to gain muscle and keep a healthy life, then your mind will exercise as
well and you can become more intelligent. I very much agree with this statement and
think it is a clever one.
